About the RDF in Drupal 7 initiative
In 2008 at DrupalCon Boston, Dries Buytaert, lead of the Drupal project, challenged the community to embrace the Semantic Web vision and make it part of Drupal's core DNA. A group of developers then gathered to discuss strategies on the Semantic Web Drupal group.
Since then, the RDF in Drupal core initiative has gained quite a bit of prominence in the Semantic Web community and other tech communities. Winning accolades such as the Best Semantic Web In-Use paper award at the 2009 International Semantic Web Conference and being featured in articles where it is called the first mainstream Semantic Web winner, the initiative is bringing new users and developers to the community. At the same time, it is also introducing Drupal developers to new (and sometimes complex) ideas.
The Semantic Web Drupal group really kickstarted the RDF movement in Drupal, and is still a great place to hash out ideas... but beginning the Drupal learning curve there can feel a little like jumping in at the deep end of a very long pool. So we started this site. We are a group Drupal enthusiasts who are keen to make Drupal and RDF as easy to use as possible. This site contains resources to make the transition to Drupal and Linked Data easier.
